I am pleased to announce that The Trials of Divinia audiobook edition will be available on Audible, Amazon, and Apple Books from Christmas 2025.

The book will be narrated by Reece Bollen. Read on for a Q&A interview with Reece.

  1. What did you enjoy about the book?

This story has a lot of things I really enjoy - rivalries, mysteries, high stakes that influence character choices (and those stakes also heighten the other two) but for me, the thing I most enjoyed has to be the characters. There are certain characters that really stand out for me - some of which don't even really appear all that often! This world Glen has created is so wide and understandably so we can't focus on everyone - it just leaves me wanting more!

  1. How was the experience of creating the audiobook?

This project has been a lot of fun! Overall from start to finish the process took just under two months. Alongside enjoying a cold read of the book, I got to have lots of creative freedom in my character work and Glen was very open and happy for any suggestions which really made me excited to tackle the next chapter.  This is the biggest audiobook project I've taken on so far and there were a lot of teething issues I faced during recording, and a couple issues in the editing process - but by the end of it I felt nothing but accomplishment - if not slightly weathered and battle hardened by how many times I had to cut out my own mistakes.

  1. What was the biggest highlight and what was the biggest trial?

Biggest highlight for me was working with Glen to make sure this audiobook was the best it can be - the communication from him was always so clear, precise and patient - mistakes I made along the way were always met with helpful pointers and suggestions that made the final project one I'll be singing the praises of for a while.

Biggest trial for me was definitely the editing side of the audiobook, I'd say about 30% of the process was actually recording the book! There would be a few times where I'd discover something that would improve the quality of the chapter exponentially - and then realise that I'd have to re-record the entire chapter to do it!

It was a labour of love, and I'm feeling very very confident in my ability moving forward!

  1. Who was your favourite character to voice and why?

Either Garrick or Thoros, probably leaning more towards Garrick. Both voices are based off other characters that are then twisted to fit their character, Garrick taking inspiration from Billy Butcher (from The Boys) and Thoros taking inspiration from Perfect Cell (from Dragon Ball Z, both the original dub voice and abridged). Both of these characters had a lot of heart and explored a full range of emotions, and it was fun exploring that.

  1. What was your favourite chapter or scene to voice?

Absolutely chapter 23 when Redacted revealed to Redacted that Redacted was indeed Redacted all along!!

My non spoiler answer though, is one of Kaida's lines in the Ferroxia trial - "Fine. Let's confuse the bastard."

You can absolutely tell I enjoyed that when you listen to it.

  1. Do you have a standout line or moment you'd recommend people listen out for?

Absolutely! And it's honestly the moment that made me really connect to the protagonist, Talon. There's a moment in the Tempestus trial, where Talon protects his team in a flaming blaze of glory, albeit reluctant to hurt the life he needed to protect them from. This moment of pained choice almost made me want to turn the entire book into an audio drama with sound effects and backing tracks just so I could make this moment as amazing as I thought it was. Upon realising that I'm only human - I decided it might be best just to stick with voices for now.

  1. Was there any character you'd like to hear more from?

There are a few I'd like to follow, but I think my most anticipated characters are Cassian and Zarek. Those characters have a great dynamic with Talon and I'd love to see how those are explored in the next instalments.

  1. What are you expecting and/or hoping for from the next book?

The first instalment in this series ends in such an interesting place! It takes the world that's established over the course of the book, and flips it in such a way that could mean the sequel could go anywhere! I'm excited to see Talons continued progression as a character, and how he interacts with Zarek and his family

  1. What else are you working on at the moment?

At the moment, I'm planning a charity campaign for this very audiobook! More details on that on my socials. As for work, I have an audio drama series slowly releasing called "Case File Redacted" where I play the ever confused and stressed Detective Michael Knightly! You can find that on YouTube!

  1. Where can people follow you and find out more about you?

My Instagram @reecebollenactor is the place where I'll be posting most of my campaign and upcoming events. I'm also available on Fiverr if you wanted to hire me for any work.
